Version 2026-10-29

Opportunity Watch Co. LLC runs this page as early research into a product that is not available yet. Here is everything we collect, why, how long we keep it, who helps us, and your rights. We never sell your information or share it for advertising beyond the ad measurement described below, and you can say no to that too.

Cookies and your choices

In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask first and set nothing that isn't strictly needed unless you say yes. A small banner asks; "No thanks" works as well as "Allow", the page works either way, and "Cookie choices" at the bottom of the page changes your answer at any time. Your answer stays on your device for 12 months.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as "no": no ad pixels, no recordings, and in the regions above no counting cookie. We honour it as a valid opt-out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising under California and other US state laws.

Your email

If you leave it, we use it only to tell you about this product (legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw). Every email has an unsubscribe link. If we stop testing the idea, we delete signups 12 months later.

Visit information

A random id (a first-party cookie, or only for one page view where we ask first and you haven't said yes) lets us count which page you saw, which ad or link brought you, how far you scrolled, which parts you viewed and for how long, where you tapped, whether a button didn't respond, page errors, load speed, device type and country. If you tap "Too pricey?" on a page and pick an answer, we keep that answer with the same id, kept 13 months like visit counts. We don't record what you type, apart from the email you choose to send us. Visit summaries are kept 180 days and visit counts 13 months (legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing whether the page works, or your consent where we ask first). We use these totals to test versions of the page, never to change the page for you personally: a test only decides which version everyone sees.

Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views, the referring site and load speed, without cookies and without any id for you.

When we compare two versions of a page, or two prices, a first-party cookie keeps you on the same version for up to 60 days, so you never see two prices. Where we ask first, everyone sees the same version and no such cookie is set.

Session recordings (only if you say yes)

Some pages ask whether we may record your visit. Nothing is recorded unless you tap Allow. A recording shows the page as you saw it, plus taps, mouse movement and scrolling. Everything you type is hidden in your browser before anything is saved, and checkout and payment areas are never recorded.

Recordings are stored on our own servers (on Cloudflare), are never sold, shared or used for advertising, and are deleted automatically after 30 days. You can stop at any time with the link at the bottom of the page, which also deletes recordings of your visits.

Payments

If you buy or pre-order, Stripe handles your card. We never see or store card details. We keep your email, what you paid, when, and any refund or dispute for 7 years, as tax and accounting rules require (legal bases: our contract with you, and legal obligation).

Photos and other personal uploads

This page never asks for photos. When a product of ours needs them (for example photos of your child, to draw a character), we use them once to make what you ordered and then delete them. We never save them on our servers or in our database, never share or sell them, and never use them in ads.

Photos go only to Google, whose Gemini models do the drawing, on Google's paid service. Google never trains on them (Google's terms). To keep children safe, Google keeps what we send for a limited time, up to 55 days, only to check for misuse such as child-safety violations, and then deletes it (how Google checks for misuse). We never send photos to any service whose terms allow training on them.

Your typed answers (such as your child's name and what they love) are turned into a story by Anthropic's Claude. Anthropic's commercial terms forbid training on what we send; it keeps requests for up to 30 days only to check for misuse, then deletes them. What we make for you (such as the drawing and your book's pages) is kept only to make and deliver your order, and deleted 30 days after it ships, or sooner if you ask. The product's own privacy notice repeats all this before you upload anything.

Support emails and the help chat

If you write to us or use the help chat on a page, we keep your messages, and your email if you give it, for 2 years after the last one (a chat where you left no email, 30 days), to answer you and handle refunds. An AI service (Anthropic) drafts email replies from our help text; a person checks them. In the help chat, the AI may answer common questions straight away from our help text; for anything else, leave your email and we reply by email. Anthropic doesn't use this to train its models.

Once you send a message, the help chat keeps a random id for the browser tab you're using (it ends when you close the tab; no cookie), so your messages stay in one conversation. We also note what people tell us about our pages, products and prices, in short lines from which we remove email addresses, links, handles, phone and order numbers and other codes, and are told to leave out names, to make them better. Those notes are deleted with the messages they came from.

Ad measurement

Outside the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and only when your browser hasn't asked us not to track you, some pages use the Meta Pixel or the Google tag so those companies can tell us whether an ad led to a visit or a signup. Under some US state laws that counts as "sharing"; you can opt out by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by emailing us.

Who helps us (processors)

Cloudflare (hosting, database, storage and email), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (support reply drafts and help chat answers, and writing the stories in what we sell), Google (drawing from photos, as described above), and Meta and Google (ad measurement, only as described above). They act on our instructions under data-processing terms. They are US companies; information about people in the EU, the UK and Switzerland is transferred under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Records of your choices

We keep a record of your recording choice and the terms version you agreed to (with your random id and the time) for 3 years, so we can show what you chose.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask to see your information, get a copy, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising. Email hello@trynew.app. We answer within 30 days and never treat you worse for asking. We may need to confirm the request comes from you. If we say no, you can appeal by replying "appeal", and we answer that within 45 days. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Security and breaches

We check our systems for security problems every day and fix them by set deadlines. If a breach puts your information at risk, we tell you, and the regulators who need to know, as fast as the law requires.

Children

This page isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we delete it.

Changes

If this notice changes, the version above changes, and earlier versions stay on record.
